About Kevin

Kevin was born in Bermondsey in South East London, but moved with his family to Eltham, attending Colfe’s School at Lee Green. Setting up his first business at age 24, Kevin subsequently moved to Tunbridge Wells in Kent some twenty years ago, where he lives in Lamberhurst with his wife Louise and their two daughters. A Director of Tunbridge Wells Training, a corporate software training company established in 1992 with clients across the South of England, Kevin is a past Chairman of the Tunbridge Wells Business Forum.

Kevin has held a Private Pilot’s Licence for over a decade, flying light aircraft out of Headcorn and Biggin Hill airfields. He takes a keen interest in the City of London, where he is a Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards, and a Past Master of Tower Ward Club, one of the City’s twenty five Ward Clubs.

He has regularly been called upon by a range of organisations – Local Government Association, IdeA (Improvement and Development Agency), Audit Commission, South East and South West Employers, Leadership Centre for Local Government and others, to carry out training, monitoring and inspection work at numerous local authorities up and down the country.

Although Kevin enjoys bringing innovation and change to the public sector, and has been instrumental in the success of many Kent-based initiatives, it is his role as a local politician which he finds most fulfilling. Representing the residents of Sherwood, Pembury and St James’ allows him to use entrepreneurial flair and dogged determination for the benefit of the communities he serves.

In this role, Kevin has successfully ‘connected’ a range of agencies and organisations with individuals at a local level. He serves as a Governor at Sherwood Park Primary School, but regularly visits Pembury Primary School. He holds regular surgeries in all three of his wards, and believes in real democracy, often holding public meetings to stimulate community action (Greggs Wood Road resurfacing, 277 bus services, Pembury crossing service, Sunhill Court residents’ issues etc)
