'Britdisc' campaign
Times up for freeloading foreign lorries in Kent. Foreign lorries bring gridlock and pollution to Kent yet pay nothing.
Every day, foreign lorries account for more than three quarters of all cross-channel lorry traffic. They cause congestion, pollution and damage to Kent’s roads but this Labour Government gives them a free ride. Meanwhile, British hauliers face huge Road Taxes and Fuel Duty almost twice as high as the rest of Europe – an obscene Labour tax that foreign lorries avoid by filling their tanks abroad.
Conservatives at Kent County Council want to introduce a “Britdisc” – a charge on each foreign lorry entering Kent to raise £35m a year for better roads across the county and to sort out the damage done by lorries. Unfair? Not a bit of it. Germany already charges British drivers for using their roads. It’s time our government stopped rolling over to Europe and started defending Kent and the people who live here. They should stand up for Kent. Just like we do.
If YOU believe that foreign lorries should pay a fair share, please sign our online ‘Britdisc’ petition.
